Question by : Help with sleep Apnea?
I have been diagnosed with Sleep Apnea. During my sleep test I stopped breathing 144 time for 66 seconds so it was suggested that I use a CPAP machine. Its a mask hooked up to a machine that forces air into me so I don’t stop breathing. My issue is that I cant fall asleep while wearing the mask. I work 8:30 – 5:30 Monday -Friday and everyday I end up wearing the mask and being wide awake until 2am, at that point I just take it off and pass out within 10 minutes. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to help me fall asleep with the mask on? I just want to sleep like a normal person for once in my life ![]()
The mask I have is called the Quattro FX, it goes over my mouth and nose. I have tried the one that just fits your nose but I can’t not open my mouth. I get bad allergies sometimes so as soon as I lay down I can barely breath from my nose at all.

Your not alone with this problem. ALot of people have trouble getting use to the mask. Try wearing it when your watching tv, napping to get use to it. It takes almost a month to get use to it. Is it the whole mask that covers your nose and mouth? You may want to try the one that just fits into your nose.
Talk to the rep. that brought your CPAP out to your home, they are trained to h elp you with problems like these. Good luck dear.
